Permanent or Temporary Vinyl

When you're looking at vinyl for a project, whether you're doing it for a window sticker, or putting a company logo on a vehicle. You may just be putting some decoration on the wall in your house, You will need to decide between Permanent or Temporary Vinyl.

There are multiple things to think about when you are looking at vinyl. Such as how long you want the vinyl to last, where you are putting the vinyl, or if you want to be able to remove the vinyl in the future.

Permanent Vinyl

All of my vinyl decals are made with permanent vinyl that is rated for outdoor use for up to 6 years.  Indoor use is indefinite.  These decals are listed as permanent, however, with a bit of elbow grease and solvent, you can remove them. You will want to check the manufacture of the solvent you are using to make sure it's acceptable on your surface.

One thing that is nice with permanent vinyl, you can use a wet or dry application method when applied to glass, or vehicle surfaces.  The wet application helps you if you need to adjust the decal slightly. If you are planning on using the wet method, please let us know, a specific application tape is necessary.

Temporary Vinyl

You can also get a temporary vinyl that can last up to 3 years outdoors and indefinite indoors. The temporary vinyl is also removable with a bit of elbow grease and solvent. You will want to check the manufacture of the solvent you are using to make sure it's acceptable on your surface.

Both vinyl options have over 60 color options, which may, or may not make your decision easier, or harder.

Before purchasing you will want to decide where you're going to be placing the vinyl. Once you have determined the location, then you can decide on Permanent or Temporary Vinyl.
